Textiles designed to stay fresher, so they can be washed when they need it.

INATURAL applies Polygiene® textile technologies designed to help fabrics resist odour between uses. Combined with sensible washing and gentle care, that practical performance is intended to support washing when needed and longer use.

Below: what each technology does, what it can mean for buyers and for the people who use the textiles, and where our evidence stops.

A cycle: use, check, wash when needed, dry gently — repeated, which can help the textile stay in use for longer. UseCheckWash whenneededDry gently Longer in use
Why we apply these technologies

We bring Polygiene’s textile technologies into real products.

Polygiene develops and owns StayFresh™‎, OdorCrunch™‎ and StayCool™‎. INATURAL’s work is integration: choosing the right technology for a textile and how it will be used, applying it in production, and evaluating samples before a product goes to market.

We do this because odour is often the reason a textile goes into the wash before it is really dirty. A textile that stays fresher gives the person using it more choice about when to wash it.

The technologies

Three technologies, three different jobs.

StayFresh and OdorCrunch both help with odour, but in different ways. StayCool is about comfort, not odour.

Polygiene StayFresh™‎

The everyday problem
Sweat and moisture let bacteria multiply on fabric, and those bacteria produce the stale smell that builds up with use.
How it works
According to Polygiene, a silver-based treatment (silver chloride) is bound to the textile and inhibits the growth of odour-causing bacteria on the fabric. It acts on the textile, not on the person using it.
The practical benefit
Designed to help towels, uniforms and sportswear stay fresher between washes.

It is not a substitute for washing, hygiene routines or infection-control procedures.

More about StayFresh™‎

Polygiene OdorCrunch™‎

The everyday problem
Some smells do not come from bacteria at all. Cooking fumes, smoke and other everyday odours cling to fibres.
How it works
According to Polygiene, modified silica particles on the fabric attract odour molecules and break them down. Polygiene states that OdorCrunch is not a biocide: it works on the odour molecules themselves, not on bacteria.
The practical benefit
Designed to help textiles that are hard to wash after every use — such as hospitality textiles and upholstery — stay fresher.
More about OdorCrunch™‎

Polygiene StayCool™‎, In development

The everyday problem
Heat and sweat can make fabric feel warm and clammy during activity or long shifts.
How it works
According to Polygiene, a moisture-activated finish bound to the fibres responds to sweat and heat to give the fabric a cooler feel.
The practical benefit
Designed for a more comfortable feel during wear. INATURAL is still evaluating StayCool; it is not yet part of our products.

A cooler feel is about comfort. It is not protection against heat stress or heat illness.

More about StayCool™‎

StayFresh and OdorCrunch can be combined: one limits odour-causing bacteria, the other attracts and breaks down odour molecules. The right choice depends on the textile and how it is used.

What it means in practice

For the business that buys, and the person who uses.

For business buyers

Hotels, healthcare providers, uniform suppliers, brands and procurement teams.

  • A technology matched to the use

We recommend the technology that suits your fabric, its application and its laundering conditions — not one finish for everything.

  • Samples before production

Samples of your own textile are prepared and evaluated before production, and the checks needed are agreed for each use, because results depend on fibre, construction and process.

  • Fit with your laundry

We discuss washing and drying conditions up front, so we can assess whether a treatment suits how your textiles are laundered.

  • Evidence with its scope

We show what has been tested, on what and when, and say plainly what has not. Technical documentation can be discussed on request.

For the people who use them

Guests, staff, athletes and households.

  • Fresher between uses

Treated towels and garments are designed to resist the build-up of stale odour.

  • Fewer odour-driven washes

If an item still smells fresh, you can choose to use it again before washing — where its care label and any hygiene rules allow. That may mean less time spent on laundry.

  • Less lingering smell

OdorCrunch is designed to target everyday odours such as cooking and smoke, not only sweat.

  • Familiar care

Treated textiles are washed and dried according to each item’s own care label.

Responsible use

How everyday use and care can support environmental goals.

The environmental benefit we aim for is indirect: it depends on how a textile is used, washed, dried and kept. This is the pathway the technologies are designed to support.

  1. Use

The treatment is designed to help the textile resist odour while it is in use.

  2. Check before washing

If it still smells fresh and is not visibly dirty, it may not need washing yet — unless its care label or hygiene rules say otherwise.

  3. Wash when needed

Wash as the care label says — and always when hygiene rules require it, as in healthcare, food service or shared use.

  4. Dry gently

Air-dry when the care label allows, and keep to its tumble-drying limits.

  5. Keep in use

Washing only when needed and caring for the fibres can help a textile stay in use for longer.

What we can and cannot say yet

We have not measured water, energy, detergent or carbon savings for INATURAL’s finished products, so we do not publish figures. Fewer washes and longer use are the intended pathway, not a result we have demonstrated. The actual effect depends on the textile, the user, the laundry and local conditions.

Practical care

Care that keeps hygiene first.

  • Follow the care label on each item. It takes priority over any general advice, including this page.
  • Wash the item when it needs it. Where hygiene rules or professional laundry procedures apply, follow them every time.
  • Air-dry when the label allows.
  • Professional laundries in hotels and healthcare: talk to us about your washing conditions before a treatment is chosen.
Testing and evidence

What the evidence shows, and where it stops.

INATURAL’s own test evidence today is one independent laboratory report, dated January 2023. It measured one bacterial species on INATURAL white towel samples, before washing and after 20 washes. It is a test report on those samples, not a certification, and the validity period stated in it has ended.

The technology descriptions on this page are Polygiene’s. We have not yet measured odour performance, cooling, drying time or long-term durability on our finished products, and we do not borrow figures from other products to fill those gaps.
